This is a very exciting episode for me as I am now halfway in my podcast recording to episode 168. This has been an amazing journey, but I have learned some lessons in the past 4 years that I need to work on.
Since this is a rather monumental episode (at least for me) I discuss how I have come to understand how I have struggled with the “trying” bug for the last 9 years of my life.
Maybe you know what I’m talking about.
You state that you will “try” to make that deadline or appointment, but in reality you have given yourself a way out.
Stating that you “will try” to do something allows you to internally provide yourself with an exit strategy.
You will often find yourself rationalizing skipping something because you said you would “try”. After all you “did try”.
However, at the end of the day it really is just a way for you to not commit to something.
This podcast episode discusses how you may need to quit “trying” and start actually “doing” instead.
Additionally, this episode marks me further niching down into helping couples with selling their products and spreading their message.
This has been something I have been working on figuring out ever since Podcast Movement this year and I am happy to say that it has been a culmination of things becoming clearer including the start of my wife’s business Alison Aadahl Designs, which has already generated some good revenue for us. More on that to come.
After studying my listeners, I have realized that a majority of the ones I know are individuals that have a spouse and that are trying to figure out how to grow their brand.
And with my wife’s business, it has even become more personal.
We are very excited for this as my wife and I will be able to work with each other in a new exciting way.
